The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, building its case entirely on British wool with three distinct layers that perform different roles from surface to core. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose to keep the cover soft against the skin while the viscose adds durability for decades of use. Beneath it, a layer of hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool provides immediate give, encouraging air movement to moderate temperature throughout the night, followed by a deeper layer of British fleece wool to add resilience and prevent uneven surface compression over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, with each spring in its own calico pocket so weight variants between sleepers are supported independently. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a characteristic carried across the range. The Devonshire is available in Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm tensions, with King sizes optionally split across the centre. Two rows of hand side-stitching reinforce the border coils, while hand-tufting with felt washers anchors fillings to prevent lateral shift and preserve a consistently firm sleeping surface over time.
